Dary życia |

Wznieść ręce w górę,
jak drzewo gałęzie, I szumieć w duszy, błogosławiąc losy Za te uciski, pęta i uwięzie, Z których się serce wyrywa w niebiosy. W piwnicy krzepić się
jak w gór ozonie Lecz choćby klęska skończyła me boje, |

Life’s gifts |
|||
|
Lifting my hands up, as trees raise their branches, with soul’s leaves’ murmur one’s fate daily praising for all the pressures and hard circumstances from which to heaven the heart’s ever rising, thriving in cellars as in mountain air, thanking the days when they’re dark as the night, knowing that with my last breath I still dare, not knowing whether my God’s at my side, though in this struggle I well may be bested, and though most cruelly fate scourges me hence, yet I am certain my life shan’t be wasted, for I made songs and had many friends. |
